A Typical Day in Guatemala City

A typical weekday in Guatemala City:

6:15 - Rise and shine!
7:00 - Breakfast
7:30 - Leave my house to go to the busstop
8:00 - Arrive at CASAS
8:30 - Spanish class
10:30 - Break
11:00 - Spanish class
12:30 - Lunch
1:30 - Various activities:
- Monday: Peace, Justice, and Violence class
- Tuesday - Thursday: Free afternoon, or a field trip to a local site in Guatemala City
- Friday: Introduction to Central America class
4:30 - Go to busstop to head home (2 busses)
5:15 - Arrive at home
5:15 - Do homework
8:30 - Dinner (or whenever my host dad gets home, or I just eat by myself if he is really late)
9:00 - Homework, or watch TV with family
9:30 or 10:00 - Bed time!

This upcoming weekend will be my first full weekend with my family, who apparently does nothing on the weekend and enjoys staying home, watching TV, etc, so we'll see how that goes.

Another note, I'm still trying to upload pictures, however my USB device says "2.0 HiSpeed" which these computers apparently can't read, unfortunately I don't understand computer instructions in Spanish. I'll see if the internet cafe will work, but apparently other students are having difficulty uploading pictures. :( So I guess no promises.

So, I'm still having a great time, and still trying to absorb and appreciate what I have gotten myself into. Hope you all are doing well! Hasta luego!

Much love,
Rachel
